James W. McKey, Consulting Vice President, joined Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A) in 2008 bringing more than 20 years’ experience in fundraising and administration for academic institutions. Today, in addition to his work with the firm, he serves as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Earlham College where he oversees development, alumni relations, and communications.
Before joining GG+A, Jim served as Director of Advancement for George School, where he managed a staff of 13 and a campaign exceeding the $28 million goal. While there Jim received the CASE Circle of Excellence Award for overall fundraising performance. Previously, Jim was the Director of Development with Friends’ Central School, also serving as President of the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools (ADVIS).
Jim’s previous consultant engagements include providing campaign counsel to Oakwood Friends School, delivering a program review to Greene Street Friends School, assisting the Moorestown Friends School with campaign preparation, and providing campaign preparation and a review of the major gifts program at the Friends School of Baltimore. He currently sits on the Board of Trustees for the Friends Council on Education and the Richmond Art Museum.
Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Earlham College and a master’s degree in teaching from Brown University.
