Ithaca College
In 2004, Ithaca College enlisted GG+A to help guide the planning and execution of its largest comprehensive campaign. Ithaca had ambitious plans for its Making a World of Difference campaign that included new facilities, increased endowment, and sustainable growth in annual giving to reflect a new excitement about and pride in the College’s accomplishments. Ithaca’s proud history as a college had not been reflected in private support from alumni, and the College sought to undertake a campaign that would secure important funds and build a new level of engagement with alumni, parents, and friends.
GG+A conducted a strategic planning study, analyzed Ithaca’s database, and provided counsel as the College worked to achieve an unprecedented level of major gifts success and build a fundraising program that would last well beyond the campaign timeframe. In February 2008, Ithaca announced that it had surpassed its $115 million goal and ended its campaign with more than $145 million raised. The impact of the campaign has already been felt across campus, where a Platinum-level LEED certified College of Business will open in spring 2008, plans are underway for a new state-of-the-art Athletic and Event Center, and 144 new scholarships and endowed funds are providing resources for students and faculty. GG+A is currently conducting a post-campaign review to assist in planning advancement programs, staff organization, and resources as the College works to sustain its newly-increased level of private support and welcome a new president in summer 2008.
